Pinoy geek talking about everything under the sun

UK’s consumer magazine, Which?, just declared Apple’s 15inch powerbook as the best desktop replacement and the 14″ iBook as the best entry level notebook with the Fujitsu-Siemens P7010 as the best ultra portable (with the 12″ powerbook as an alternative).

I am glad that I purchased the 15″ powerbook a few weeks back — a week before Apple Singapore unbundled Applecare from local product offerings. Current notebooks now come with the standard 1 year warranty. I am not sure how much it costs, though, but I will find out and see if it is significantly cheaper than with the bundled Applecare. I know of some friends who are considering switching. I am hoping that they will continue to do so. 🙂

Walter Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal just released a spring buyer’s guide citing that Macs are “getting more consideration” than before. Buyers locally might take a hint or two from the guide.
